I've included a relevant function [[User:Godtone#My_Python_3_code|<code>orderedapproximator</code> in my code]] (which is free to use and modify etc. at will by anyone subject they provide it to others under the same conditions; that's essentially what the license is: copyleft). Notably this solves the exact type of mean used.
