: I think you are talking about email notifications about changes on pages you watch. A notification is sent with the first change only and then gets muted until you visit the page again. In the notification, there are two links: one showing the diff for the change itself, one for the diff between the state before that change and the current state. This is what I know about the mediawiki notification system.
