Value of Hekt

In the second table, besides Cents also Hekts are used. Does anyone see the advantage in this case. I do not want to say that there is no benefit but I really wish to understand it. --Xenwolf (talk) 09:15, 6 December 2020 (UTC)

Merged Oneirotonic page into this page for now

I don't think it's feasible to give every MOS pattern a name like "oneirotonic". Pages should focus on practical theory first and foremost, anyway.

We can discuss subpaging how-to-use theoretical guides for MOS patterns. Inthar (talk) 14:33, 1 February 2021 (UTC)

Something is broken in the Modes table

The code for automatically generating the Modes table doesn't seem to work right.

Instead of seeing, for instance, "7|0", I see "7{{pipe}}0" in the left column of the Modes table. Even went to 5L 2s (where the Modes table looks right) to try to compare Modes tables, but I can't see the underlying cause of what went wrong on the 5L 3s page.

Fixed. FloraC (talk) 12:12, 8 February 2025 (UTC)
Thanks -- what did you have to do to fix it? Lucius Chiaraviglio (talk) 23:15, 8 February 2025 (UTC)
I reverted a change in the module responsible for generating the table. FloraC (talk) 04:27, 11 February 2025 (UTC)

Correspondence of mode numbers to mode names?

It would be nice to have the table that says which mode numbers (UDP) correspond to which node names not be hidden, like on the pages for 5L 1s, 5L 2s, 5L 4s, or 7L 2s, or better yet have this table be integrated into one table with the table that gives the correspondence between node numbers and step sequence permutations.

And by the way, this page has really cool composition snippets demonstrating the scale. Would like to see more of these on other scale pages (5L 4s has a set of samples demonstrating soft vs hard scales, which would actually be good to add here, but I can't think of other examples off the top of my head). I moved them to the modes section, but kept the table collapsed. I suppose it's becuz the original author no longer recommends the names or something. FloraC (talk) 04:27, 11 February 2025 (UTC)
