Hello! My name is Eliseo and I am a microtonal enthusiast, obviously :)
I was first made aware of microtonal/xenharmonic music by SupahstarSaga's series on 19-EDO. I am so glad to have discord the world of xenharmony as it allows for more compositional possibilities than I would have otherwise imagined.
EDOs that interest me the most
- 7-EDO: The first EDO where MOS scales make any applicable sense. As it tempers out both 45/44 and 55/54 (and thus 25/24), 0–2–4 can function as a 10:12:15 minor chord, an 18:22:27 neutral chord, or a 4:5:6 major chord. Notation is very simple as you just label the notes from A to G. No sharps or flats are needed. A great EDO for beginners to try.
- 10-EDO: Just like 7-EDO, 10-EDO tempers out the intervals mentioned above, conflating minor, neutral, and major chords. 3\10 can be used as generator to create Mosh. This is extremely efficient for generating neutral 7th chords. Mosh has a total of 4 neutral tetrads and 5 neutral triads. The sLsLsLs mode sounds similar to the Double Harmonic Major scale and can sound both familiar and xen, as the major and minor chords are tempered out with each other to sound as neutral chords. Another great EDO for beginners to try.
