Redirect?

I suggest replacing this page with a redirect to Help:Advanced formatting of wiki pages. The current contents of this page could be moved in a subsection of that help page instead. I guess I could just do it, but I want to make sure I'm not missing the purpose of this page by mistake. --Fredg999 (talk) 15:54, 12 March 2022 (UTC)

Well, JavaScript is much more than a tool that can be used in the wiki. What's your actual problem with this page? --Xenwolf (talk) 19:55, 12 March 2022 (UTC)
From my understanding, the goal of this page is to give examples of how to use JavaScript in the context of xenharmonic music (practice/theory). I think such examples could simply be listed, in a dedicated subsection if deemed necessary, on the page Software (or Useful Tools; but see Talk:Useful Tools for my suggestion to merge these two pages). If someone wants to add longer guides later, those should go on separate pages and could be linked as a "see also" link on the appropriate pages. As for the usage of JavaScript within the wiki, that would go on the help page I mentioned above. You're right that there are actually (at least) two separate use cases, so we might want to make this a disambiguation page instead of a simple redirect. I just don't think it's relevant to start having separate pages for each programming language which can be used to make xenharmonic music, unless there's really a lot of content to justify a split. --Fredg999 (talk) 18:16, 13 March 2022 (UTC)
I agree. The aspects WebAudio, p5.js, Processing can easily be listed in Software (or whatever the lemma should be). Regarding redirection, however, we should keep in mind that JavaScript belongs less to the realm of advanced formatting and more to that of user interface customization. --Xenwolf (talk)
