Ebooone's tier list of edos 1-50

Ebooone, whose real name is Evelyn Mathis (ae/aer), is a composer, percussionist, and pianist from North Carolina. Ae is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in composition at UNC Charlotte. Aer main focus in the realm of xenharmony is edos, mainly those containing 50 tones or fewer.

Most of Evelyn's compositions are notated. When it comes to xen scores, ae is a fan of sagittal notation.

Evelyn's favorite xen artists include Tapeworm Saga, Hideya, Sevish, Francium, and more.

Projects

EDO Impressions

May 2024 - Present

In the summer of 2024, Evelyn set out to create a comprehensive xen wiki page detailing aer thoughts on all positive integer edos up to 50. On top of this, ae decided to write a short 120bpm loop in every single one using MuseScore 3.6. The point of this page is to provide a solid basis for understanding these edos, while also giving aer an opportunity to share aer own opinions.

There are two reasons why ae used MuseScore instead of a DAW. 1) Ae hadn't ever used a DAW when ae started the project and 2) ae wanted to see how far MuseScore could be pushed to create beautiful sounds without the help of Muse Sounds. Ae also wanted all of the tracks to be notated.

26edo Nocturnes

May 2024 - Present

So far, only one of these nocturnes has been written (see Xen Compositions > 2024). Evelyn only wrote it because 26edo was voted as the tuning of the month for May 2024, but ae soon realized that this edo wasn't just a novelty. It is an absolutely brilliant edo that suits the nocturne style perfectly, so ae plans to write a series of 26edo nocturnes to be performed on Lumatone.
