Inconsistency of example

In "How to read a wedgie" meantone has wedgie ⟨⟨ 1 4 4 ]], but in "Derivation from edo joins" meantone has wedgie ⟨⟨ -1 -4 -4 ]]. Which one is correct? Lucius Chiaraviglio (talk) 07:09, 29 June 2025 (UTC)

They represent the same temperament, but ⟨⟨ 1 4 4 ]] is the preferred form since we generally assume the first entry of wedgies should be positive. FloraC (talk) 10:48, 29 June 2025 (UTC)

That the first entry is positive is just a convention. I guess at some point it should be clarified that these coordinates are projective, which is why this works at all. But I don't really know how to explain that informally. – Sintel🎏 (talk) 20:09, 29 June 2025 (UTC)
