Edo pages
I see you created many edo pages, but they seems all over the place. Don't you have anything else to say about those edos apart from what it tempers out in the patent val? For one thing, I'd like to remind you of considering the most reasonable subgroups of them, like dual-fifth edos where it's better interpreted in terms of 2.9.…. - Can you please explain further how the pages seem all over the place? I'm asking because I try to have a structure behind creating and editing pages, because that's how I work the best. I can say something else about edos beside of tempering out specific commas if they support specific temperaments. Is there something else I can look into? Also, what is the optimal way for getting regular temperament properties? I still consider myself as a beginner, especially with the regular temperaments part, so I would be happy if someone can explain to me, what things to use and how to use them (besides of Graham Breed's temperament finder, I already use that). --Francium (talk) 11:14, 25 April 2023 (UTC)
- To me they just seem like random edos and I haven't seen anything special about them, so I do wonder what else you have to say. I see you already have a good workflow regarding the page structure, tables, etc, and the error and badness data seem to be accurate. My suggestion is considering the most reasonable subgroups and a number of alternative vals if the edo isn't approximating JI in the most obvious way. Graham's temperament finder finds alternative vals for you. Not that all of them need to be listed, but it's a thing to consider. FloraC (talk) 12:17, 25 April 2023 (UTC)
- Ok, I see. That randomness is because I also do music in these edos (well, at least I try to) and one piece is finished earlier than another. And I like prime numbers. Also there are some non-prime numbers which have a symbolic meaning for me (which can also apply for prime numbers, too). Thanks for your advice. --Francium (talk) 12:34, 25 April 2023 (UTC)
Comma pages
Hello all, I have a question to those who are experienced in creating and editing comma pages. So, I created the page "Unicorn comma" and I don't know what I have done wrong. I looked up how other pages about commas look like, especially the Infobox Interval. Problem is that it didn't turn out how I expected. Did I do something wrong here? If yes, what? Please help me with this issue since there are several already named commas which don't have their own page yet and I would like to help out by creating these pages. --Francium (talk) 18:33, 6 September 2023 (UTC)
- I fixed the Unicorn comma template, feel free to look at the edit diff to see what I changed. Keep in mind that very large ratios might not be handled well by the template, so you can provide a monzo instead if the ratio field doesn't work. ~~
