3888/3887, the shoal comma or vicetride comma, is a 23-limit and 2.3.13.23-subgroup semiparticular comma of about 0.445 cents. It is the difference between 27/23 and 13/122, or between 23/12 and 18/132 and in this way tempering this comma out allows for the introduction of intervals of 23 into the 2.3.13 subgroup, like is done in the notable 2.3.13 systems 17edo and 147edo.
Etymology
The name vicetride comma was assigned by Xenllium, presumably from a contraction of "vicesimotertial" and "tridecimal", while the name "shoal" originates with CompactStar and comes from a contraction of "sharp whole tone", referring to the 26/23-generated temperament defined by this comma alongside 12168/12167 or equivalently the kwadransma.
