Pages for intervals in Alpharabian tuning
Hey! I'm just looking over these guidelines, and I'm curious as to where pages like 297/256 go according to the standards of this document. I know I created a bunch of 2.3.11 interval pages, and I think the biggest deal concerning these intervals is that they provide a framework for certain interval categories- namely those related to quartertones- and they also have some bare usage purposes, which I'm still investigating. Any thoughts on these pages? --Aura (talk) 16:29, 5 May 2025 (UTC)
- I have updated the section for intervals to add an option regarding this. I have yet to run it by the Discord though so they might reject it. --BudjarnLambeth (talk) 02:28, 6 May 2025 (UTC)
- According to most people on the Discord, those last two intervals you mentioned are too complex/niche to warrant their own dedicated pages, but they should still stay in main space - they would just be made into subheadings of the Alpharabian article, instead of having their own separate pages. But all the content would still be preserved. So if these guidelines do get adopted, those pages will be merged into the Alpharabian page. --BudjarnLambeth (talk) 23:11, 6 May 2025 (UTC)
- Sadly, I have yet to see how this proposal will work. I'll need to see proposals on how this could be done before we do anything with them. After all, there's a whole slew of these sorts of pages, and Margo Schulter has pointed out that my documentation of this stuff is some of the best this wiki has to offer. Perhaps there should be articles detailing groups of Alpharabian intervals rather than from individual article pages or even simply merging them into the main Alpharabian page... --Aura (talk) 07:09, 7 May 2025 (UTC)
- This page has been superseded by User:Sintel/Notability guidelines. So it is likely his page that will end up becoming actual policy, not this one.
- I recommend you talk to Sintel and Fredg999 about this topic instead of me, because they have more influence than I do and they have a better finger on the pulse of the community's mood, so they will be better able than me to give you a solution that actually works to make you and everyone else happy.
- User:CompactStar (CompactStar on Discord) thinks Sintel's guidelines are too strict, so you have a natural ally in him I think. So maybe see if you can start a discussion on User:Sintel or User:Fredg999's user talk page, and see if you can pull CompactStar and Margo Schulter into the discussion on that talk page, and then I think your chances of a favourable outcome should be increased.

- I have DM'ed CompactStar and Margo Schulter on Discord and told them that you are concerned about how Sintel's guidelines will affect your interval pages, and I told them that I advised you to involve them in the discussion, so hopefully they should not be surprised if you do decide to contact them. I hope that everything works out in your favour, I like your music and your interval pages :) If I spot the proceedings going on in a talk page, I will try to put a word in in your favour as well. --BudjarnLambeth (talk) 09:52, 7 May 2025 (UTC)
