New page! I make no claims about it being complete or definitive -- it's a good start for information that I feel belongs in the wiki. I only listed a few examples at the end because the Tuning manipulation software and Tuner plugins lists are actively maintained and expecting this one also to be actively maintained to the same extent is perhaps unrealistic. Scale designers and tuning editors

It's possible this section should be renamed "Scales vs Tuning Systems" and have the first and last paragraphs rewritten to move the focus on those vs. the software. Other thoughts are welcome. Mousemambo (talk) 08:28, 19 August 2023 (UTC)

I'll write about the distinction between "abstract" and "concrete" scales/tuning systems (which I have discussed on Discord) on the scale and tuning system pages, because it is also relevant for other topics than scale design software. Then we can link to these pages whenever we use those terms to make sure they're understood adequately. When that's done, we can look again to see how we can optimize that section.
