Dead Link

Jacob Barton's "Five senses of 81/80" seems to have been removed from Youtube. Is there anyone who can recreate it/reupload the video or should we just take out the paragraph where its mentioned? --CritDeathX (talk) 17:29, 8 March 2020 (UTC)

Not only that, but the same thing is true of the link to the interview on Untwelve discussing Monroe Golden's Incongruity. --Aura (talk) 15:52, 27 October 2021 (UTC)

Organization, and the syntonic comma as a musical interval in its own right

Instead of saying "If one should be so bold as to treat the syntonic comma as a musical interval in its own right as opposed to tempering it out,", it would be better to reorganize this article after the example of the Diesis, which has an Approximations section, and following that a Temperaments section which has sub-sections for "As a comma" and "As an interval" (and while we're at it, can we get it a non-comma name?). After all, NOT tempering out the syntonic comma is a requirement for many temperaments to work properly, where tempering it out results in a c (or even cc) val, although in equal divisions of the octave smaller than 56EDO, it will unavoidably be inflated. Also, it would be good to cover how the syntonic comma connects other commas, such as the above-mentioned Diesis and Greater Diesis. Lucius Chiaraviglio (talk) 19:04, 30 July 2024 (UTC)

I do have an idea for what to call 81/80 for a non-comma name- how about "Ptolemaic Subchroma"? After all, that's the kind of thing I use it for in my own works. I was thinking of "Syntonic Subchroma" earlier, but I realized that that wouldn't exactly work, since "syntonic" means "having the same frequency". --Aura (talk) 19:44, 30 July 2024 (UTC)
Sounds good to me, although I'm also trying to think of a non-comma name for the Archytas comma (whose page also merits similar changes) that would be consistent with it. Lucius Chiaraviglio (talk) 20:11, 30 July 2024 (UTC)
Actually, 64/63 is not as straightforward, since it can be both a subchroma and a type of second. --Aura (talk) 20:16, 30 July 2024 (UTC)
Fixed. --Godtone (talk) 22:39, 30 July 2024 (UTC)

Complete the Sagittal Notation?

Showing the symbol for Sagittal Notation down by this interval is nice, but it would be good to put the Sagittal Notation up for this interval. Unfortunately, I haven't yet figured out how to reference the right symbol myself. Lucius Chiaraviglio (talk) 07:14, 9 October 2024 (UTC)
