Wouldn't middle major second better fit to 19/17? The name septimal major second isn't already taken. --Xenwolf (talk) 10:08, 26 September 2020 (UTC)

... and the other mediant derivative of 19/17, 29/26 could claim the name "middle major second" as well. --Xenwolf (talk) 10:18, 26 September 2020 (UTC)
Septimal major second is 8/7 (it was me who added this name to the 8/7 page, but it has been on Wikipedia: Septimal whole tone, which referenced Harry Partch's book). FloraC (talk) 10:36, 26 September 2020 (UTC)
Okay, thanks you remind me of a fact I already knew but obviously forgot. Any ideas how to proceed with the naming (29/26 needs one, 29 is ventinove in Italian and viginti novem in Latin). --Xenwolf (talk) 11:47, 26 September 2020 (UTC)
28/25 may be the hemithird for it's the generator of hemithirds.
The Latin numeral terms are derived from ordinals. Given 23 is "vicesimotertial", I'm pretty sure 29 is "vicesimononal", but I'm not sure 29/26 is the vicesimononal major second. FloraC (talk) 07:18, 27 September 2020 (UTC)
Thanks for the research. This absolutely makes sense. I'll add it to 29/26, maybe there are also other names (addressing certain properties), but this is a good start. --Xenwolf (talk) 13:18, 27 September 2020 (UTC)
I've seen "undetricesimal" on some of the XenWiki pages for 29-limit intervals - which version is official? Secretcoffee (talk) 18:41, 15 July 2023 (UTC)
It's down to personal preferences. My peculiar pick for 19 is undevicesimal over novendecimal and for 29 is vicesimononal over undetricesimal. FloraC (talk) 04:42, 17 July 2023 (UTC)
