(Shannon, [math]\displaystyle{ \sqrt{nd} }[/math])
961/960, the tricesimoprimal quarter-tones comma is a 31-limit or 2.3.5.31-subgroup superparticular comma of about 1.8 cents. It is so named as it forms the difference between the simplest quarter-tones formed from prime 31: 32/31 and 31/30. It is also more surprisingly the difference between 31/24 and 40/31, so that when tempered it splits 5/3 into two parts, which finds notable use in the strong canonical extension of sensipent.
Etymology
The name was proposed by Godtone in 2024 for completeness in creating the page for a commonly-encountered comma of subgroup harmony.
