961/960, the tricesimoprimal quarter-tones comma is a 31-limit or 2.3.5.31-subgroup superparticular comma of about 1.8 cents. It is so named as it forms the difference between the simplest quarter-tones formed from prime 31: 32/31 and 31/30. It is also more surprisingly the difference between 31/24 and 40/31, so that when tempered it splits 5/3 into two parts, which finds notable use in the strong canonical extension of sensipent, along with escapade.
Etymology
The name was proposed by Godtone in 2024 for completeness in creating the page for a commonly-encountered comma of subgroup harmony.
