The Redeye scale is a Ternary scale proposed by Michael, Wad Wizard, and Unque. The scale is defined by the 14-note sequence sLmLsLmLsLmLsL; it has 7 large steps, 3 medium steps, and 4 small steps.

Name

The name "Redeye" comes from a portmanteau of "Red" and "Di-," from the names of the Redwood and Dicot temperaments, due to its extrema being generated by those two temperaments. This naming scheme was originally chosen by comparison to another rank-3 scale, Blackdye.

Scale Properties

The following MOS scales can be made by collapsing the Redeye scale:

sLmLsLmLsLmLsL 4 1
LmLsLmLsLmLsLs 13 2
mLsLmLsLmLsLsL 7 3
