The Redeye scale is a ternary scale proposed by Michael, Wad Wizard, and Unque. The scale is defined by the 14-note sequence sLmLsLmLsLmLsL; it has 7 large steps, 3 medium steps, and 4 small steps.

Name

The name "Redeye" comes from a portmanteau of "Red" and "Di-," from the names of the Redwood and Dicot temperaments, due to its extrema being generated by those two temperaments. This naming scheme was originally chosen by comparison to another ternary scale, Blackdye.
