[[Bryan Deister]] has demonstrated a [[6L 2s]] (4:3 step ratio) [[Sensipent_family#Bison|Bison]] mapping for [[30edo]] in [https://www.youtube.com/shorts/O6nOiLxYPdE ''<nowiki>Ferris Wheel - 30edo [short]</nowiki>''] (2026), with Bison being the intersection of [[Porwell temperaments|Porwell]] with [[Sensi]]. The (rightward) generator for this is 4\30, which is a somewhat sharp septimal neutral second ~[[35/32]], and two of them yield a somewhat sharp classic major third ~[[6/5]] (the Porwell comma [[6144/6125]] is tempered out). The range is just under 4½ octaves with no missing notes and plenty of repeats to mitigate vertical wraparounds, and the octaves are near enough to level to be able to consider dividing the layout into two manuals if vertical wraparound mitigation is not needed.

[[Bryan Deister]] has used layouts for [[30edo]] that were inspired by the diatonic layout for [[29edo]] (rather than being made for any specific temperament). The original version is demonstrated in [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NP3HGr3ZD70&lc=UgxFBmbxZa5dF4ZPj0F4AaABAg.AFzcn1LkVZNAG4JYIvXZvZ ''minuet in 30edo''] (2025). The right-moving generator is a somewhat flat Pythagorean whole tone (~[[9/8]], 5\30; and in the video, the row segments that include note 0 are colored solid red). The up-moving generator is a somewhat flat tridecimal supraminor second (~[[14/13]], 3\30); neither would be able access the full gamut on its own, but together they cover the full gamut with a generous allotment of repeated notes (indicating that if this layout was to represent a particular temperament, that would have to be a rank-3 temperament if having an octave period, or a rank-2 temperament dividing the octave into multiple periods). The range is a bit under five octaves, with octaves slanting up (while wrapping around) at the same angle as the right-moving generator.

There are many conceivable ways to map 30edo onto the onto the Lumatone keyboard. However, it has 6 mutually-exclusive rings of fifths, so the Standard Lumatone mapping for Pythagorean is not one of them. Many other mappings will also fail to cover the whole gamut.

Antidiatonic

The closest thing to a diatonic scale is using the bc val, which is a near optimal tuning for Mavila temperament.

Lovecraft

If you want to concentrate on the more xenharmonic consonances available, the Lovecraft mapping is about as good as you can get.

Bison (Porwell + Sensi)

Bryan Deister has demonstrated a 6L 2s (4:3 step ratio) Bison mapping for 30edo in Ferris Wheel - 30edo [short] (2026), with Bison being the intersection of Porwell with Sensi. The (rightward) generator for this is 4\30, which is a somewhat sharp septimal neutral second ~35/32, and two of them yield a somewhat sharp classic major third ~6/5 (the Porwell comma 6144/6125 is tempered out). The range is just under 4½ octaves with no missing notes and plenty of repeats to mitigate vertical wraparounds, and the octaves are near enough to level to be able to consider dividing the layout into two manuals if vertical wraparound mitigation is not needed.

Bryan Deister's mappings derived from 29edo

Bryan Deister has used layouts for 30edo that were inspired by the diatonic layout for 29edo (rather than being made for any specific temperament). The original version is demonstrated in minuet in 30edo (2025). The right-moving generator is a somewhat flat Pythagorean whole tone (~9/8, 5\30; and in the video, the row segments that include note 0 are colored solid red). The up-moving generator is a somewhat flat tridecimal supraminor second (~14/13, 3\30); neither would be able access the full gamut on its own, but together they cover the full gamut with a generous allotment of repeated notes (indicating that if this layout was to represent a particular temperament, that would have to be a rank-3 temperament if having an octave period, or a rank-2 temperament dividing the octave into multiple periods). The range is a bit under five octaves, with octaves slanting up (while wrapping around) at the same angle as the right-moving generator.
