Character encoding error?

Hi Eliora, I found an edit on 293edo by you that introduces a placeholder character. Would you please take another look at this? Thanks in advance. --Xenwolf (talk) 17:20, 28 November 2021 (UTC)

I did that on purpose, as a way to propose notation when there is a large consecutive series in a monzo. If another form is required, I will gladly replace the placeholder character with something else. Eliora (talk) 20:55, 28 November 2021 (UTC)
Thanks for the clarification, now I see what you mean. I think we should by all means avoid the Unicode special character which is reserved to indicate an encoding error. Using 0 is much better, even if not ideal (superscript notation is unexpectedly switching from mathematical to linguistic meaning). But you are right, coping with zeros is definitely a weakness of the monzo notation.
BTW: didn't you mean [1590 012 293⟩ (alias [1590 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 293⟩) instead? --Xenwolf (talk) 21:39, 28 November 2021 (UTC)
