MuseScore 3, MuseScore 4, and 159edo
Hey, I see how you mentioned how you created a plugin for n-tet for MuseScore.  I'm curious as to whether or not you'd be willing to make a version of this for EDOs as high as 159edo for MuseScore 3, and eventually, MuseScore 4. --Aura (talk) 19:37, 7 February 2021 (UTC)
: Hi, Aura! I actually didn’t create this tuning plugin. This plugin was created by the GitHub user euwbah, not me. https://github.com/euwbah/musescore-n-tet-plugins
:As for support for higher edos, euwbah states that the plugin only supports edos up to 117edo with a few exceptions, which is because of the limited set of accidentals that MuseScore provides. Userminusone (talk) 21:08, 7 February 2021 (UTC)
:: Ah.  I guess that once I get a half decent notation system for 159edo done, we should be able to do more by then. --Aura (talk) 21:26, 7 February 2021 (UTC)
::: I don’t know about “we”, because, even though I have some programming experience, I don’t know enough about MuseScore’s Qt language to make a fork with support for higher EDOs. I do know that FloraC made a fork already, so you could ask FloraC about adding support for higher EDOs. Userminusone (talk) 21:34, 7 February 2021 (UTC)
:::: Sorry, I meant "we" as in the microtonal community, which just so happens to include you.  Sorry about not being clear. --Aura (talk) 21:45, 7 February 2021 (UTC)
::::: No need to apologize. I interpreted "we" incorrectly. By the way, I'm curious as to what you use to microtune your MuseScore files, but I'm not sure if that should go on your talk page instead of mine. Userminusone (talk) 03:19, 8 February 2021 (UTC)
:::::: Well, since I'm no programmer, I don't think much of it to be fit for conversation on my page at the moment, unless someone else approaches me about it first.  As to how I microtune my songs in MuseScore, I simply go into Inspector and type in the cents of difference from 12edo for individual notes in the score, and I do this for every note except for those parts where I can simply copy-paste chords and stuff such.  Oh, and have you heard my songs "Space Tour" and "Welcome to Dystopia"?  I'm asking because I think these songs serve as good examples of the results of this painstaking process. --Aura (talk)
::::::: I've heard a little bit of both of those songs, but I haven't finished listening to either of them yet. By the way, I feel bad that you painstakingly edit the tuning for each note individually since the plugin I talked about earlier can do all of that for you. Even though the plugin doesn't support 159edo yet, I'd encourage you to try it out with other smaller tunings and see what you think. Userminusone (talk) 02:41, 9 February 2021 (UTC)
:::::::: How much money does this cost?  Also, are there plans in the works to port this plugin to MuseScore 4 when it hopefully comes out sometime later this year? --Aura (talk) 02:48, 9 February 2021 (UTC)
::::::::: This plugin is absolutely free and is even listed on the MuseScore plugins page. You can also follow this link: https://github.com/euwbah/musescore-n-tet-plugins Userminusone (talk) 00:31, 10 February 2021 (UTC)
:::::::::: Thanks.  However, since I'm working with 159edo, I guess I'll just have to keep doing this manually for a while, since I like 159edo for a reason. --Aura (talk) 01:47, 10 February 2021 (UTC)
Contacting you, getting back to you on your Novation software vid
Howdy. I tried to comment on your Novation software YouTube vid. Says "2 comments" but I only see yours. Do you hold yours in moderation?
Also tried to find you on Discord by searching @userminusone  but the search just went on forever and didn't find you.
You Zany kids who don't have email addresses.....It's impossible to get in touch with you. Might want to change that, especially if you're making software for an audience who might have feedback, or if some company might want to do a grubby deal with you.
Anyway, nothing terribly important, just wanted to chat and thank you for what you're doing. I shared your stuff on a couple of Xen Facebook groups.
You might want to add your software here: https://en.xen.wiki/w/Software
Be well,

: Hey, Michael! I'm sorry that you've had some trouble contacting me. I'll update my wiki page to include my email address in case you or anyone else want to contact me there in future. I'm really glad you appreciate what I've done and that you've shared it around, as it really means a lot to me! I like your suggestion to include the software I've written on the Software page, but I'm not entirely sure if that's the best place to link my software, since my software is purely for remapping MIDI notes and changing key colors using MIDI Sysex, and doesn't do any sort of microtuning on its own. If I put my software on the Software page I'd have to create a new section for it, and I'd like to discuss this first with the other regular wiki editors to make sure it's ok with them, so for now I'll just link it on my user page as well.
: I hope you have a fantastic day! --Userminusone (talk) 16:29, 16 September 2023 (UTC)
:: By the way, the wiki has a "email this user" feature, although it only works for users logged in to the Xenharmonic Wiki. If you don't want random visitors from having access to your email address, this might be a better way to go. Otherwise, if you want to allow anyone from the public to reach you, then go ahead and add your email address to your user page. Fredg999 (talk) 16:35, 16 September 2023 (UTC)
::: Oh fantastic! I didn't know about that feature, so thanks for letting me know! --Userminusone (talk) 16:43, 16 September 2023 (UTC)
:::: I was just informed by Fredg999 that there is a section on the Software page for MIDI remapping plugins, which I completely forgot about, so I added my software there! --Userminusone (talk) 21:14, 16 September 2023 (UTC)
