EDO theory links to EDO pages?
Confusing Dead Link
Since each EDO now has its own page, maybe the EDO theory links here should be moved there?

Besides, I am, once more, asking myself what the distinction between "Theory" and "Scales" is...
So on the quote "not discoveries but inventions," there's a link leading to some PDF file that either has the wrong link or is gone. Can I ask if there is a point for this, and if there is, can we find the original PDF again?

Merge into Approaches to musical tuning?
----
I moved the EDO theory links to the repective EDO pages - and also the otonal 17 link.

I think we could organize each EDO page into 3 paragraphs: theory - scales - compositions. 17edo is already like that.
It looks like in 2014, most of the contents of this page were copied to a new page called Approaches to musical tuning. Now, it would probably make sense to keep the older page and merge the newer one into it, but I have a preference for "Approaches to musical tuning" for the title; if I want to be pedantic, I'd even suggest something like "Outline of approaches to musical tuning". Also, the shorter introduction on the "new page' also seems sufficient for now, it's better categorized, etc. The links at the bottom are probably already noted elsewhere on the wiki, although double-checking just in case that wouldn't take long. Therefore, I propose the merge. Any thoughts? --Fredg999 (talk) 04:21, 9 March 2022 (UTC)

Still wondering about what to do with the "scales" page...

nixed the links
I'm hoping this becomes a place especially for building new structures of information and knowledge and pedagogy within the domain of microtonal theory, and I don't see the need right now for a list of external links without any guide as to how to peruse those links.

Just a list of links without any guide does indeed not make that much sense. Yet I think links *with* guide ought to be there, since there is quite some amount of microtonal theory on the web that I consider relevant. I would say that Monz's encyclopedia on tuning terms should be there at least. And maybe Paul Erlich's paper on 22-tone theory, parallel to the 17-tone theory on this wiki?

yes. I think if we could have a guide to monz's encyclopedia, like groups of topics, e.g. "read these articles in this order to better understand x", i think that could be great. now, to do it...
