It is also chiral, which means that there are two distinct variations of the scale, left-hand (LH) and right-hand (RH). The name was suggested by Fitzgerald Lee as it is a possible chromatic extension to nicetone (3L 2M 2s). The first edo that supports it is 22edo.

Nicechrome can also be tuned as a 5-limit JI scale where L = 27/25, M = 16/15 and s = 25/24.
