Tas is a series of generator sequence scales generated by GS(7/6, 8/7) or GS(8/7, 7/6). It may be treated as a pair of closely related series of scales, since changing the order of the generators slightly changes the structure of the scale.

The name "Tas" was coined by Scott Dakota, deriving it from "Archytas".

Scales

Constant structure scales are at sizes: 4, 5, 9, 14, 24, 29, 53, 106; with the 29-note being a good JI preimage for garischismic temperament.

4-note:

  • 7/6 4/3 32/21 2/1
  • 7/6 4/3 14/9 2/1

5-note:

  • 7/6 4/3 3/2 12/7 2/1
  • 7/6 4/3 3/2 7/4 2/1

The 9-note Tas scale is also called diasem.
