This is a list of common acronyms.
- CTE
- Constrained Tenney-Euclidean (especially pure-octave constrained)
- EDn
- Equal division of n (ED2 = EDO, ED3 = EDT, ED3/2 = EDF, etc.)
- EDD
- Equal division of the diapason/ditave (synonym of EDO)
- EDF
- Equal division of the fifth (usually prefixed with a number, e.g. 9-EDF)
- EDO
- Equal division of the octave (usually prefixed with a number, e.g. 12-EDO)
- EDT
- Equal division of the tritave (usually prefixed with a number, e.g. 13-EDT)
- ET
- Equal temperament (usually prefixed with a number, e.g. 12-ET)
- LCJI
- Low-complexity JI
- ME
- Maximal evenness (or maximally even)
- MP
- Myhill's Property (see Scale properties simplified)
- MVn
- Maximum variety n
- TE
- Tenney-Euclidean (short for Tenney-Euclidean tuning)
- TET
- Tone equal temperament (usually prefixed with a number, e.g. 12-TET) (synonym of ET)
- TOP
- TOP tuning (Tenney OPtimized or Tempered Octaves, Please)
- WF
