On the contrary, most wiki engines use it, please have a look at [https://www.wikimatrix.org/syntax.php?i=32 wikimatrix.org]. ::::::Except that while <code>wikispaces</code> was an educational simplified markup language, wikitext (the system used by MediaWiki) shouldn't be treated as one. I think [[FREEZE]] was right, it turned the childish <code>wikispaces</code> syntax into the proper wikitext syntax that probably didn't work in <code>wikispaces</code>.
