Nicepent (2L 1M 2s) is a 5-note maximum variety-3 scale. It is also chiral, which means that there are two distinct variations of the scale, left-hand (LH) and right-hand (RH). The name was suggested by Fitzgerald Lee as it is the pentatonic predecessor to nicetone (3L 2M 2s). The first edo that supports it is 10edo, followed by 12edo, 13edo and 15edo.
Nicepent can also be tuned as a 5-limit JI scale where L = 6/5, M = 9/8 and s = 10/9.
Modes
The ten modes are listed from brightest to darkest (from minor to major) and are named after the names of fingers.
