The primate comma is a 7-limit interval, 117.5 cents in size, with frequency ratio of 16384/15309. It is the difference between 8/7 (septimal major second) and 2187/2048 (apotome, Pythagorean chroma).
Etymology
The word primate for this interval was introduced by Xenllium in 2023. It was translated from Japanese word 猿 (さる, saru), a play of its color name, saru (as the identical pronunciation).
