The 53-limit consists of just intonation intervals whose ratios contain no prime factors higher than 53. It is the 16th prime limit and is a superset of the 47-limit and a subset of the 59-limit.
These things are contained by the 53-limit, but not the 47-limit:
- The 53-, 55-, and 57-odd-limit;
- Mode 27, 28 and 29 of the harmonic or subharmonic series.
