: Since there are no category-related conventions so far, to my knowledge, I tried to get this as coherent as possible by looking at the existing stuff, but it's still a work in progress. For instance, I don't know much about step-nested scales, but if it turns out that they are always tempered, then that could become a subcategory of tempered scales.
