This template starts on C, but most edo pages start on D. I believe this was chosen because D is in the middle of the circle of fifths (F-C-G-'''D'''-A-E-B), leading to the most symmetrical configuration. Very nice to see ups and downs note names being automated! But these note names aren't ideal. For example 57edo runs:

D ^D/vvEbb ^^D/vEbb D#/Ebb...

In general, I think the number of arrows should be minimized. Thus ^^D should be vD# and ^^D# should be vDx.

The note names for 57b-edo have up to 9 arrows, but only 5 are needed. The names should run:

D ^D/Eb ^^D/^Eb ^3D/^^Eb ^4D/^3Eb ^5D/^4Eb v4D#/v5E v3D#/v4E vvD#/v3E vD#/vvE D#/vE E
