Hi. Sorry to butt in, but in your user page, you mention that "[xenharmonic] doom metal ... doesn't exist." Maybe you meant JI doom metal, but xen (edo) doom metal does exist. Cryptic Ruse has some really droney doomy stuff, and some more progressive doomy stuff, but definitely primarily doom metal, and he's been around for years. There are a few other xen metal artists that have some doom-metally songs, too, but I'd say not primarily doom metal.
- Yeah, I probably meant JI Doom Metal. :D Thanks, though, I'll check this out! ResonantFrequencies (talk) 02:00, 2 July 2019 (UTC)
- User:Bozu, you appear to be incorrect. Cryptic Ruse: 'The "Diagrams" are four tracks of sludge/drone metal, in various shades of 11-limit Just Intonation' ResonantFrequencies (talk) 02:14, 2 July 2019 (UTC)
JI, EDOs and diatonic harmony
Hey! I don't know about you, but when I write diatonic harmonies, I prefer my major scale to be written in a system utilizing the following ratio series or its approximations: 1/1, 9/8, 5/4, 4/3, 3/2, 27/16, 15/8, 2/1. Yes, I use a fixed pitch system approximating these ratios. Any thoughts? --Aura (talk) 03:52, 27 December 2022 (UTC)
- Hi! I'm not sure what I prefer. I think I want to explore "free style" JI that isn't attached to any particular key, and just consists of relative intervals, but of course it's very difficult with real-world instruments. ResonantFrequencies (talk) 20:10, 27 December 2022 (UTC)
