Metascale

A metascale⁠ ⁠^{[idiosyncratic term ]} is any scale which is created as the result of some interaction between two or more original scales. Some families of metascales include:

• Compound scales
• Kartvelian scales
• MOS cradles
• MOS muddles
• Polysystemic scales / Polymicrotonal scales
• Scales occurring within temperaments generated by cross-domain temperament merging
• Scale products and scale powers
• Semi-just intonation
• Translated scales
• The set of notes used in a Neely-intonalist⁠ ⁠^{[idiosyncratic term ]} piece of music, if it were to be treated as a scale
