460/459, the scanisma or vicewolf comma, is a 23-limit superparticular comma of about 3.77 cents. It forms the difference between 23/17 (vicesimotertial wolf fourth) and 27/20 (classical wolf fourth). By tempering it out is defined the scanismic temperament, which enables the scanismic chords.
Etymology
The words scanisma and vicewolf were introduced by Xenllium in 2023. The former refers to 460 Scania, the asteroid (itself named for a province of Sweden), and the latter is a contraction of vicesimotertial wolf into a single word.
