3520/3519, the vicedimma or vicedim comma is a 23-limit superparticular comma of about 0.49 cents. It is the amount by which a stack of 11/9 and 20/17 exceeds 23/16. By tempering it out is defined the vicedim temperament, which enables the vicedim chords.

Etymology

The words vicedim and vicedimma were introduced by Xenllium in 2023. Both were contractions of vicesimotertial diminished comma, and so named for the comma which induces essentialy tempered triads 1-11/9-23/16 (with steps 11/9, 20/17, 32/23) and 1-20/17-23/16 (with steps 20/17, 11/9, 32/23), on account of their dissonance in comparison to the septimal diminished triads (1-6/5-7/5 and 1-7/6-7/5), tridecimal diminished triads (1-11/9-13/9 and 1-13/11-13/9) or septendecimal diminished triads (1-17/14-10/7 and 1-20/17-10/7).
