146 equal divisions of the octave (abbreviated 146edo or 146ed2), also called 146-tone equal temperament (146tet) or 146 equal temperament (146et) when viewed under a regular temperament perspective, is the tuning system that divides the octave into 146 equal parts of about 8.22 ¢ each. Each step represents a frequency ratio of 21/146, or the 146th root of 2.

146edo has an accurate harmonic 5, only 0.012344 cents compressed from just. 146 is the denominator of a convergent to log25, after 3, 28 and 59, and before 643. Combined with fairly accurate approximations of 7, 9, 11, 17, and 19, it commends itself as a 2.9.5.7.11.13.17.19 subgroup system.

However, it also provides the optimal patent val for the 11-limit newspeak temperament.
