Parameter name normalization

it's better to have unique parameter names, so the alternative forms given earlier are now revoked. Pages that make use of them are automatically collected in Category:Todo:normalize interval parameters and should be adjusted from time to time. --Xenwolf (talk) 12:11, 7 November 2020 (UTC)

Auto-applying a category?

Should this template also insert e. g. [[Category:Interval]] into page text, is it a good idea? --Arseniiv (talk) 17:02, 7 November 2020 (UTC)

Yes, in principle, but I'm not clear what the best category (or categories) should be. We have so far mostly: Interval, Interval ratio, Ratio, I also think that the prime limit could (better: should) be added to the parameters: it's applicable in every case and never goes beyond the limits (as monzos do sometimes see 71-limit). --Xenwolf (talk) 18:15, 7 November 2020 (UTC)
None of Interval, Ratio, or Interval ratio should be added. (1) The page can be about a comma (not an "interval"). (2) The page title can be a name (not a ratio). FloraC (talk) 18:29, 7 November 2020 (UTC)
@FloraC: right! Good that you mentioned the commas! Maybe some sort of category then? - or will that be to confusing? --Xenwolf (talk) 18:33, 7 November 2020 (UTC)
Limit seems a good addition, as it’s probably a pain to calculate with MediaWiki functions? --Arseniiv (talk) 19:09, 7 November 2020 (UTC)

Monzo better optional?

We have some intervals with high p-limits. The Monzo value sometimes tend to explode the frame and its informational value is questionable (who really wants to count all the zeros)? The best would be to make (Ratio or Monzo) mandatory but I doubt that a really great implementation will be possible. --Xenwolf (talk) 18:39, 7 November 2020 (UTC)
