reduced
961/960, the tricesimoprimal quarter-tones comma is an unnoticeable 31-limit (specifically 2.3.5.31-subgroup) superparticular comma of about 1.8 cents. It is so named as it forms the difference between the simplest quarter-tones formed from prime 31: 32/31 and 31/30. It is also the difference between 31/24 and 40/31, so that when tempered out it splits 5/3 into two parts, which finds notable use in the strong canonical extension of sensipent, along with escapade.
Etymology
The name was proposed by Godtone in 2024 for completeness in creating the page for a commonly-encountered comma of subgroup harmony.
