Tempered val and tempered monzo notation

Tempered vals and tempered monzos use either the standard brackets or "curly brackets" (braces). I have no clue where the practice of using the pipes in tempered monzos/vals from monzos/vals comes from. According to D&D's research, the use of brackets in place of pipes is largely for visual clarity since the number 1 looks very similar to the pipe.

I don't know if these operators are actually used for (1) the look of the pipe or (2) actual tempered vals/monzos anywhere yet. If they are used for (1) I suggest deprecating them in favor of some clearer names. If they are used for (2) I suggest changing them to look exactly the same as normal vals/monzos for now. I suspect it's (1) cuz rbra and rket have also been created, suggesting operators in this template aren't meant to be used semantically. FloraC (talk) 18:24, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
