I don't know about this "melodic root" thing, surely it is not the same as a tonic.
This page should just be about chord roots instead, which is what "root" refers to in music.

Agreed, the use of the term "melodic root" for the tonic is misleading. A tonic is a tonic, while a chord root is a chord root. --Aura (talk) 13:30, 6 May 2025 (UTC)
