Tendoartisma is a 13-limit or 2.3.5.13 subgroup comma. It's the difference between a stack of six 3/2 pure fifths and a stack of seventeen 15/13s.

Temperaments

Tempering it out in 2.3.5.13 subgroup leads to the tendoartic temperament, and tendoartismic in full 13-limit. Further retraction to the 2.3.13/5 fractional subgroup leads to the seventeen-cot temperament. Both tendoartic and seventeen-cot can extend by tempering out 225000/224939 or 43940/43923 in larger subgroups.

Etymology

Named by FilterNashi in 2026 after the arto and tendo theory aka extraclassical tonality theory.
