4693/4692, the viceaugma or viceaug comma is a 23-limit superparticular comma of about 0.37 cents. It is the amount by which a stack of 17/13, 23/19 and 24/19 falls short of an octave. By tempering it out is defined the viceaug temperament, which enables the viceaug chords.

Etymology

The words viceaug and viceaugma were introduced by Xenllium in 2023. Both were contractions of vicesimotertial augmented comma, and so named for the comma which induces essentialy tempered triads 1-24/19-26/17 (with steps 24/19, 23/19, 17/13) and 1-23/19-26/17 (with steps 23/19, 24/19, 17/13), on account of their dissonance in comparison to the classical triads (1-5/4-3/2 and 1-6/5-3/2), undecimal augmented triads (1-9/7-11/7 and 1-11/9-11/7), tridecimal augmented triads (1-5/4-13/8 and 1-13/10-13/8), septendecimal augmented triads (1-17/13-21/13 and 1-21/17-21/13) or undevicesimal augmented triads (1-5/4-19/12 and 1-19/15-19/12).
