Naming

Hey, Xenwolf, I don't know about you, but "Archytas' comma" strikes me as a unique name. It's true that I'd prefer 64/63 as title for this article, but still... --Aura (talk) 15:48, 27 November 2020 (UTC)

For German people "Leipziger Komma" would be the easiest name to remember and pronounce. But in a mathematical of functional sense all the names are just noise. 😉 --Xenwolf (talk) 16:17, 27 November 2020 (UTC)

Organization, and the Archytas comma as a musical interval in its own right

Instead of saying "On the other hand, if one should be so bold as to treat the Archytas' comma as a musical interval in its own right", it would be better to reorganize this article after the example of the Diesis, which has an Approximations section, and following that a Temperaments section which has sub-sections for "As a comma" and "As an interval" (and while we're at it, can we get it a non-comma name?). After all, NOT tempering out the Archytas comma is a requirement for many septimal temperaments to work properly, where tempering it out results in a d (or even dd) val, although in equal divisions of the octave smaller than 44EDO, it will unavoidably be inflated. I think I'd have to say that 64/63 could be called either the "Archytas Superprime" or the "Archytas Narrow Inframinor Second" depending on whether it functions as a prime or a second. --Aura (talk) 20:28, 30 July 2024 (UTC)
