The teleic scales are well temperaments designed to generalize the Ancient Greek “perfect systems” (systemata teleia). They split the octave into 16/9 (generally a double 4/3) and 9/8. The seventh, or conversely the whole tone, will be an interval of the corresponding edo which may generate 5L 1s or 6L 1s and normally stands within one edo degree of 16/9.
