Valentine can be notated based on the number of steps up or down. Accidentals are not used, instead the entire range of integers is mapped to the valentine generator chain, repeating at the octave. So, 15edo may be notated 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 -7 -6 -5 -4 -3 -2 -1 0, and 31edo would be notated in a more complex manner as 0 -15 1 -14 2 -13 .... 13 -2 14 -1 15 0.

Because valentine is a regular temperament, this means that valentine notation has consistent notations for any just interval mapped by an extension of valentine.
