User:UnbihexiumFan/4L 5s and 5L 4s mode names
Lilly Flores came up with names for the modes of 4L 5s based on Greek terms dealing with water, as the scale used to be known as orwelloid and Orwell comes from a Greek word pertaining to water. However, I prefer to use toponymic names like what have been done with the other scales, so I came up names that are derived from Ancient Greek names for various seas, since seas also have to do with water.
| Mode (UDP) | Name | Origin |
|---|---|---|
| 8|0 | Adriatic | the Adriatic Sea |
| 7|1 | Tyrrhenian | the Tyrrhenian Sea |
| 6|2 | Iberian | the Iberian Sea |
| 5|3 | Alboran | the Alboran Sea |
| 4|4 | Aegean | the Aegean Sea |
| 3|5 | Eruthran | from the Greek name of the Red Sea, Ἐρυθρὰ Θάλασσα |
| 2|6 | Caspian | the Caspian sea |
| 1|7 | Axenan | from the original Greek name of the Black Sea, Πόντος Ἄξεινος |
| 0|8 | Propontian | from the Greek name of the Sea of Marmara, Προποντίς |
Using the prefix anti- to denote a sort of "opposite" mode in 5L 4s, we get the following names for the 5L 4s modes:
| Mode (UDP) | Name |
|---|---|
| 8|0 | Anti-Propontian |
| 7|1 | Anti-Axenan |
| 6|2 | Anti-Caspian |
| 5|3 | Anti-Eruthran |
| 4|4 | Anti-Aegean |
| 3|5 | Anti-Alboran |
| 2|6 | Anti-Iberian |
