Definition of convergence

When examining 3/2 (with my pocket calculator), I'm getting 17\29 listed in normal typeface, despite of the fact, that the delta is less than for 7\12. Do I misunderstand "convergence" in this context, or what else is my error?

Not sure what you mean by "delta", but semi-convergents do not necessarily get "more accurate" at approximating the original number, whereas convergents do. Convergents are in bold.

It's long ago, I don't exactly remember what I meant. Nevertheless, it could help to have a description of convergent and semi-convergent somewhere here (or linked).
