Commas by name category
Ideally I would like every comma on the wiki to have a “commas by name” subcategory, as this makes it much easier for readers with an interest in etymology or the recent history of music theory to find what they’re looking for and to understand what types of names are common for what types of commas.
If you really don’t want a commas-by-name category, I won’t add one. I just wanted to voice why I think it is relevant and helps certain types of readers (myself included) navigate the wiki more easily. --BudjarnLambeth (talk) 22:15, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
- The problem is I named this comma "unidecimisma" because I was under wrong impression that it's the first useful comma appearing in sequence after 11th harmonic, only because I initially checked too little prime factors before I concluded that. But even in 23-limit there's also 253/247 which is better for this, and none of them should be called "unidecismisma". I don't know how to call this comma really, if it will be called, 253/247 should have name too.--Iniðil (talk) 23:28, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
- No worries, that makes sense :) In that case I will put it in Category:Commas with placeholder names Thanks for explaining. --BudjarnLambeth (talk) 01:05, 24 November 2024 (UTC)
