Much more efficient formulas
For checking the consistency limit of an EDO, instead of checking the ratios one by one, it would be much more efficient to find the relative error of the sharpest and flattest odd harmonics, and check if the positive difference between their signed errors is at least 50% or is less than it. Also, an EDO that is consistent in the q-odd-limit must be distinctly consistent if the step size is less than the smallest difference between two intervals in that odd limit, which is at minimum [math]\displaystyle{ (q^2+1)/q^2 }[/math]. There are likely many more optimizations that could be made.--Overthink (talk) 20:13, 2 January 2026 (UTC)
