The breeze comma or sesquiquartisma (monzo[-10 9 3 -4; ratio: 2460375/2458624) is an unnoticeable 7-limit comma measuring about 1.23 cents, and is the difference between the schisma, 32805/32768, and the breedsma, 2401/2400. This means that tempering out the latter two commas means that the breeze comma is also tempered out, leading to the rank-2 sesquiquartififths temperament. This temperament is supported by edos including 41, 89, 130, and 171.

Temperaments

Tempering out this comma alone in the 7-limit leads to the rank-3 breeze temperament. Aside from sesquiquartififths, rank-2 temperaments which tempers out this comma include magic, kwai, septisuperfourth, and enneadecal.

Etymology

This comma was named by Tristan Bay in 2024, with two names: breeze comma and sesquiquartisma. The first name is possibly a corruption of breedsma, and the other is derived from sesquiquartififths.
