1197/1196, the rodessisma is a 23-limit superparticular comma of about 1.45 cents. It is the amount by which a stack consisting of 9/8 and 14/13 exceeds 23/19. By tempering it out is defined the rodessismic temperament, which enables the rodessismic chords.
Etymology
The name rodessisma was given by Lériendil in 2025 in reference to a calendar system from their fictional setting Famana, where years can have 1196 or 1197 days. It has been proposed under the notion that asteroid names are essentially placeholders, and with notice to the coincident similarity of names.
Prior to this, the name rhodesisma was given by Xenllium in 2023, in reference to 1197 Rhodesia, the asteroid, which in turn was named after a region of Southern Africa.
