The mixed colour-names "reddish" and "bluish"

Why not call them either "orange" and "cyan", or (if their composition is more important) "red-yellow" and "blue-green"?

They certainly could be called red-yellow and blue-green. "Reddish" is just a way to shorten up the names a bit. Orange wouldn't work because it would conflict with ochre, which indicates prime 13 is in the denominator.
